Regen Network
Biodiversity stewardship and carbon markets as living laboratories of planetary health
Catalyzing climate finance through decentralized science and technology
Regen Network is living laboratory for regenerative economics – where blockchain technology, community stewardship, and ecological restoration has converged to demonstrate how our economic systems can evolve to serve both planetary healing and human prosperity. Sarah Baxendell, Emily Rogers, and Rebecca Harman, founding members of our collective, were instrumental in advancing Regen Network’s growth and development through their expertise across finance, fundraising, business development, marketing and communications, and soil science.
Nature's Marketplace
Baxendell and Rogers led the go-to-market campaign for Regen Marketplace—a pioneering digital carbon marketplace platform that achieved over $2 million in annual carbon credit sales and attracted enterprise clients like Microsoft, as well as media coverage from outlets like NPR and Forbes. Through targeted fundraising efforts, they secured $1.3 million for open-source projects and over $3 million in engineering service contracts, further establishing Regen’s influence in the regenerative finance sector. Their responsibilities extended into financial oversight, database auditing, and corporate partnership cultivation, building and managing CRM and lead generation pipelines that fostered lasting business relationships and partnerships.
A Digital Revolution in Ecological Stewardship
Additionally, they fostered a vibrant community of ecological stewards, increasing Regen Network’s social following by 400% year-over-year and growing their newsletter subscriber base to over 10,000 engaged followers. Regen has become a central educational resource for a growing audience of individuals eager to understand and participate in the emerging intersection of blockchain technology and climate action.
The reimagining of Regen Marketplace's digital presence transcended mere aesthetic improvements. By restructuring the user journey and introducing features like exportable retirement certificates, ArtEcology transformed how organization’s interacted with their climate commitments. Each project page became a window into possible futures, where financial mechanisms serve as tools for ecological regeneration.
Building Earth's New Economy
To empower users new to crypto, the team created a Web3 Buyer Guide, offering step-by-step instructions on wallet setup, marketplace navigation, credit retirement, and sharing climate impact stories. Additionally, they developed an intuitive user guide for Regen Marketplace, simplifying complex processes like credit basics, bridging, and user profile creation.
The team designed a marketing series to spotlight the transformative impact of ecocredit projects. This included compelling blogs, LinkedIn newsletters, and targeted email campaigns that engaged diverse audiences. To complement these efforts, they crafted polished executive summaries tailored to support personalized sales outreach and spearheaded the marketing strategy for the Regen Marketplace technical launch and the Cosmos ZERO carbon offsetting initiative.
Ecological Rigor: Translating Living Systems
The team focused on bringing ecological integrity to the marketplace through comprehensive ecosystem service design. They managed the registration and verification processes for ecological projects, developing robust methodologies that accurately captured carbon sequestration, biodiversity enhancement, and water conservation outcomes. Their work established scientific frameworks that translated complex ecological functions into measurable credits while maintaining the integrity of living systems. By developing streamlined workflows for project documentation, data validation, and blockchain-based credit issuance, they ensured both efficiency and transparency in the project registration process. Through global stakeholder engagement and community forum facilitation, the team helped build the relational infrastructure needed for widespread adoption of ecological credit systems, connecting land stewards, scientists, and market participants in a shared understanding of ecosystem value.
